There are three themed gardens sprawling over 1.5 acres including fully grown oaks and fruit trees, growing in just 1.5m of soil, and a flowing stream stocked with fish and wildlife. The gardens at The Roof Gardens are spectacular and best of all, they're open to the public to visit free of charge. The gardens are often hired for private events so we strongly recommend you phone ahead (0207 937 7994) to make sure they're open on your preferred day, we don't want you gate-crashing someone's wedding! If the gardens are in use you can always book a table in Babylon Restaurant for a birds eye of the English Woodland Garden, or just visit us for a cocktail on the terrace.
Spanish Garden: Based on the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, this garden has a distinct Moorish flavour.
Tudor Garden: This garden is filled with evergreen shrubs surrounded by fragrant lilies, roses and lavender in the summer months, while wisteria fills the air with its delicate fragrance.
English Woodland: This is undoubtedly at its best in the spring months, when thousands of narcissus, crocus, muscari and anemones burst into life. Here you will also find our resident flamingos.
Danach fing der angekündigte Regen an und wir fuhren mit dem Bus zum Trafalgar Square.
National Gallery ist Königswinter Central! Gut, dass es die Nationsl Portrait Gallery gibt! Mit einer kleinen, feinen Ausstellung über Vieginia Woolf, mit zeitgenössischen Malereien von Kate über Dame Dench und Maggie Smith und einer Ausstellung von Fotografien Snowdens. Danach schneller Lunch bei Costa und raus aus dem Regen bei Peter Jones. So viele wunderbare Gardinen! Dann noch ein bisschen Kings Rosd und High Street Kensington. Am Abend Füße erneut Platt gelaufen in Nottingham Hill ( alle Tusche in allen Restaurants ausgebucht), um dann nicht weit vom Hotel in der Nähe der High street Ken bei Carluccio was zu essen ! Ein Hoch auf gei gute englische Systemgastronomie......:)
